The Browns signed former Falcons running back Brian Hill for one-year to help their backfield after the season. The move, which was announced by NFL Network on September 28th, is a low risk high reward type of signing that provides hope for future success in Cleveland without giving up any draft capital or salary cap space.

The Cleveland Browns signed veteran running back Brian Hill on Tuesday after positive COVID-19 tests decimated the team’s depth at the position.
On Tuesday, Nick Chubb, Demetric Felton, and John Kelly all tested positive for the virus, leaving D’Ernest Johnson as the Browns’ only healthy running back. He’ll be able to bear part of the weight, but not all of it.
According to ESPN, Browns running backs Nick Chubb and Demetric Felton tested positive for COVID-19.
Both players have been immunized, but their availability for Sunday’s game against New England is still up in the air. To play, each participant would require two negative tests separated by 24 hours.

Hill had a career-high 465 yards running on 100 touches for the Falcons last season. He also had 25 receptions for 199 yards. He has a lifetime 4.7 yard per carry average. Hill was worked out by the Browns earlier this season, but he was not signed. He’ll be a member of the practice squad.
From the practice squad, the #Browns promoted WR Ja’Marcus Bradley and DT Sheldon Day to the active roster.
RB Brian Hill, S Nate Meadors, and WR Isaiah Zuber were all added to the practice squad, but CB Tim Harris was dismissed.

Hill might be called up, or the Browns could choose to use their fullbacks Andy Janovich and Johnny Stanton more as ball carriers. Kareem Hunt, the Browns’ first-round pick, is still out with a calf injury.
ESPN verified that Chubb and Felton have been inoculated, so they may be able to play against the New England Patriots this weekend. To play, each participant would require two negative tests separated by 24 hours.
Chubb is on the lookout for a rushing title.

It would be a blow if Chubb missed the game for a variety of reasons, one of which is that he is vying for the rushing crown. With Derrick Henry sidelined for the season, it’s a battle between Chubb and Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor, who is now 100 yards ahead of Chubb. The Browns’ leading rusher is coming off a 137-yard performance in which he gained over 10 yards per carry.
On Tuesday, the Browns signed guard Wyatt Teller to a huge deal, but the big guy was still disappointed to learn about the team’s running backs.
“It’s a pain. I wish them all the best. I believe they had been immunized. “I can’t speak for anybody else, but I truly hope they’re back soon, with no symptoms, and let’s just hope it was a little incident,” Teller told reporters. “I wouldn’t want that on my worst enemy.” It is unpleasant, but it is something they must deal with and improve.”
Clicking on All Cylinders by the Browns Offensive Line
The Cleveland Browns’ offensive lineman Jack Conklin and offensive guard Joel Bitonio celebrate with running back Nick Chubb.
The Browns are hoping to keep the ground game going despite the fact that they are shorthanded at running back. The offensive line is firing on all cylinders right now, anchored by Teller and Joel Bitonio, who have been rated as two of the league’s finest guards.
After upsetting the Bengals, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski observed, “I would say it is fairly unique to have two guys that can do that and can be placed in space and still be tough players.” “Wyatt finished with folks on the ground yesterday and was very, very violent.” Joel, on the other hand, was his usual self. Those guys performed a fantastic job. The offensive line as a whole performed a fantastic job. Nick, of course, makes some spectacular things because he is a wonderful player, but I felt those guys up front were playing extremely well together.”
With Chubb and Hunt out versus Denver, Johnson had his first 100-yard running performance, rushing 22 times for 146 yards.
Heavy on Browns has a lot more to offer.
