EverQuest, the popular MMORPG that has been around since 1999, is releasing its 28th expansion this month. The game’s latest expansion is called Terror of Luclin and it looks epic.
EverQuest’s 28th expansion, Terror of Luclin, is open for preorders, and it looks epic. The expansion will feature a new level cap, new zones to explore, and more.
EverQuest has now launched preorders for Terror of Luclin, and holy crap, the website is one of the finest any Daybreak game has received in years, replete with new graphics and animations. The web team was on point — let’s hope the programming team performed as well.
“The intrigues have been whispering in the shadows created by Luclin’s light.” The Akheva are on the march, attempting to reclaim their dominance and rebuild their moon-spanning empire. Rumors abound among the chaos of their activities. On Luclin, Mayong Mistmoore has been seen. The sole known fact is that the master vampire has vanished into the shadows, causing even his most loyal minions and sycophants to be concerned. Something is clearly brewing on Luclin’s moon. What was the Lord of Mistmoore looking for in terms of secrets or magical power? Is he attempting to seize the power of another god? Do you have the courage to look beyond the shadows and hunt down the vampire king in order to stop him from carrying out his terrible plans?”
I mean, I have no clue; the only thing I recall about Mistmoore is that it formerly housed my Bard’s drums, but I’m here for it. You’d have to be a mythology addict to keep up with this game’s 27 – soon to be 28 – expansion packs. Thankfully, the super-shiny website includes a quick rundown of content, which includes new raids, seven new zones, the ability to “join the resistance to stop the spread of the Akheva,” a new level cap of 120, and the usual slew of new spells, combat abilities, alternate advancement goodies, and gear.
Depending on your tier, the expansion will set you back quite a bit. The basic purchase price is $34.99, but there are three more editions available, with prices ranging from $349.99 to $249.99 if you absolutely need every single floozle on offer (plus some for the whole fam). We don’t have a firm launch date, only a December 2021 timeframe (the small wording reads “expansion accessible before December 31st, 2021”), so there’s not much time to wait.
