The Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars will be face-to-face in Week 3 of the NFL. It follows a strong 2-0 start for the Jags, but their defense is still very vulnerable to Josh Allen’s arm.
Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills are in for a rough day against the Jacksonville Jaguars if the ManningCast curse continues. Josh Allen was drafted by the Bills with their first-round pick in this years draft, but he has yet to play a single down for them because of an injury. The team is already 0-2 on the season and they have been struggling without him. If he doesn’t start playing soon, it could be a long year for Buffalo.
In Week 9, the Buffalo Bills travel to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars, and the 5-2 AFC East team is a two-touchdown favorite over the 1-6 AFC South team. On paper, Bills quarterback Josh Allen and his team should have an easy time winning this game. Urban Meyer, Trevor Lawrence, and the Jaguars, on the other hand, have one advantage: the looming ManningCast curse.
There’s a ManningCast curse in the works.
The Manning Curse is a genuine affliction.
Every time a player appears on the ManningCast, he or she will lose the next game.

The ManningCast, ESPN2’s alternative Monday Night Football broadcast presented by Eli and Peyton Manning, has become must-see TV on Monday evenings. The NFL’s great brothers are reinventing live sports broadcasts with their unique blend of detailed analysis and conversation show style.
One of the reasons for the program’s popularity is that the Mannings invite some of the NFL’s top personalities to appear on the show and watch football with them.
So far, contemporary players such as Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford for Week 3, and Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady have appeared on the ManningCasts.
Even while these visitors have been wonderful, there is an issue forming. Each of these current players’ teams has lost the next game after their participation.
Kelce and Wilson both appeared on the Week 1 broadcast, and their respective teams fell to the Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans. Following his appearance on the program, Stafford’s first defeat came in Week 4 against the Arizona Cardinals. The Buccaneers’ two defeats occurred in Week 3 against the Rams, after Gronkowski’s eye-opening appearance, and Week 8 against the New Orleans Saints, following Brady’s appearance.
Although the sample size is still tiny, the ManningCast curse seems to be true so far.
In Week 9, when a fresh NFL player gets a chance to succumb to this expanding plague, we’ll find out just how genuine it is.
Josh Allen was a guest on the finest ‘Monday Night Football’ ManningCast of all time.
Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills will be the next victim of the ManningCast curse. Along with comedian and broadcaster Jon Stewart and NFL Hall of Famers Michael Strahan and Michael Irvin, he is the only active NFL player to participate on the Week 8 broadcast.
Allen was a part of the most-watched ManningCast broadcast in history. According to Yahoo! Sports, 1.89 million people watched the telecast. The alternative broadcast’s previous high-water record of 1.86 million viewers in Week 2 has been surpassed by 2%.
While the ManningCast has had its ups and downs in terms of entertainment value and discomfort, the program finally seems to find its footing in Week 8.
This week was no exception, with three NFL-related guests who all blended in well with Eli and Peyton Manning.
Allen is a hyper-relevant current quarterback who has worked at the Manning Passing Academy as a college student and has known the Manning brothers for years. Strahan and Irvin are both former All-Pros who are now NFL commentators, so they know their way around the camera.
Strahan earns extra marks for being a longstanding teammate and friend of Eli Manning, who brought out the best in the more reticent quarterback.
So far, the main concern has been non-NFL-related visitors. Sue Bird, Nick Saban, and LeBron James have been the ManningCast’s worst guests so far.
The Mannings welcomed Jon Stewart this week, who, although not linked to the NFL, knows how to amuse on television. He is also an ardent New York Giants supporter. Most spectators could relate to his pain and excitement throughout each of his team’s games.
When the Buffalo Bills take on the Jacksonville Jaguars, will the ManningCast curse continue?

In Week 9, if the ManningCast curse is genuine, it will be put to the test.
The game between the Buffalo Bills and the Jacksonville Jaguars is one of the most lopsided in the NFL, and Allen and the Bills should come out on top (-14.5).
The Jaguars have a rookie quarterback in Trevor Lawrence, a first-time NFL head coach in former college coach Urban Meyer, and just one victory in a season that was derailed early by the head coach’s controversy.
While the Jaguars did pull off an AFC shock in London by defeating the Miami Dolphins, they were defeated by a Geno Smith-led Seattle Seahawks when they returned from their bye week.
The Bills, who are on the other end of the NFL spectrum, should easily win this game. The Bills defense is first in the NFL in scoring defense, while the offense ranks second in points per game (to the Buccaneers).
The only drama in this game should be if the Bills can keep/improve their offensive and defensive rankings, as well as whether Jaguars DE Josh Allen can sack Bills QB Josh Allen for the first time in franchise history.
However, in addition to being pursued by a man with the same name, Bills Josh Allen should be wary of the ManningCast curse if the game begins to go south.
