Some athletes have an amazing sense of humor. Michael Jordan is one of these people who loves to let loose with a joke every now and then, even if it’s not at his own expense.
Michael Jordan was a superstar athlete who played for the Chicago Bulls. In 1995, he saw his coach Jerry Krause locked out of the locker room after a win. The moment is one that Michael Jordan loved every second of it.
Michael Jordan and Jerry Krause, the late owner of the Chicago Bulls, did not get along. Despite the fact that the two men shared six titles, they seldom agreed, and Jordan had little faith in Krause.
Jordan loathed Krause for a variety of reasons. After MJ fractured his left foot in his second season, the distrust began. Jordan pushed Krause and Jerry Reinsdorf to be allowed to play after rehabilitating his foot, but the two men wanted him to sit out the remainder of the season, which he didn’t like.
Jordan and the Bulls finally came to an agreement. The All-Star was limited to seven minutes each half, and if he played His Airness for more than one second, head coach Stan Albeck would be sacked.
Jordan’s time restriction came up against the Indiana Pacers on April 3, 1986, with the Bulls down one on their last possession. Because Krause was in attendance and would dismiss him on the spot, Albeck couldn’t put his star guard back in. So, after the game, the Illinois native retaliated against his general manager.

After the Pacers game, Albeck kept Krause out of the Bulls’ locker room, according to John Paxson of ESPN’s The Last Dance docuseries. Chicago won by one point to move to 27-50 on the season, and Jordan and Albeck refused to let Krause join them in the locker room as he was the one who put Superman’s time restriction together.
Paxson said, “We went inside the changing room.” “Stan shut the door, and at the conclusion of the game, Jerry Krause tried to come in, but Stan wouldn’t allow him.” It wasn’t a pleasant circumstance.”
Jordan appeared in the last 15 games of the 1985-86 season for the Los Angeles Lakers. He scored 22.3 points per game and led the Bulls to the playoffs. His relationship with Krause, on the other hand, was severely strained when the superstar was unable to play in the Pacers game due to a time constraint.

After not being permitted to play against the Pacers on the last possession, author Mark Vancil, who had a strong relationship with Jordan, explains clearly in The Last Dance why Black Jesus never trusted Krause again. Jordan, according to Vancil, thought Krause had broken the most basic component of athletics.
“Michael’s distrust of management, particularly Jerry Krause, stemmed from his belief that they had broken the most basic component of sport, and, I would say, the most essential aspect of Michael’s life,” Vancil stated. “You do it at the greatest level, and you do it all the time with the goal of winning.” Michael’s connection with the ownership and management was severely strained from that point forward. That was never going to go away.”
After the 1985-86 season, Jordan attempted to dismiss Krause many times. Reinsdorf, on the other hand, never dismissed Krause because he thought he was a talented architect.
But it didn’t stop Jordan from making fun of the Hall of Famer.

Jordan made a lot of fun of Krause because he was small and chubby. Krause requested a celebration cigar from Jordan after the Bulls won their second championship in 1992. “You can’t smoke it,” the MVP stated with a giggle. It will stifle your development.”
“Jerry, you want to try some layups with us?” Jordan asked Krause. Before David Stern presented the Bulls with their championship rings in 1997, he said, “They’ve had to lower the rim.” The five-time MVP went to great lengths to make Krause look awful.
Jordan and Scottie Pippen assaulted Toni Kukoc at the 1992 Olympics when Team USA played Croatia because Krause picked Kukoc and was obsessed with bringing him to Chicago. On a worldwide scale, MJ and Pip sought to make their GM appear awful.
In the 1993 Finals, Jordan made it a mission to demolish Dan Majerle. The fact that Krause adored Majerle was enough for Air Jordan to annihilate the small forward. Jordan averaged 41.0 points per game in the 1993 Finals, leading the Bulls to their third consecutive championship.
Krause passed away in 2017. He’s one of the finest general managers in NBA history, and he deserves a lot of credit for the Bulls’ success. However, he did too many dubious things in front of Jordan, and the six-time Finals MVP never appreciated him.
