The Philadelphia Eagles are pointing the finger at a surprising figure to justify the heartbreaking Zach Ertz trade.
The zach ertz trade interview is a Philadelphia Eagles article that discusses the reasons why they traded for Zach Ertz. It includes quotes from head coach Doug Pederson and quarterback Carson Wentz.
The Philadelphia Eagles finally pulled the trigger on a trade rumor that has been circulating for the better part of a year.
They sent tight end Zach Ertz to the Arizona Cardinals, completing a deal that has seemed inevitable since the Eagles selected Dallas Goedert in the 2018 draft.
The Eagles most likely made this move to create space for Dallas Goedert, who is on the rise. However, there were many factors that contributed to such a sad choice.

Before delving into what Eagles general manager Howie Roseman stated during his post-trade news conference, the first thing to emphasize when analyzing the Ertz transaction is that Philadelphia seems to be fully committed to their reconstruction.
The Eagles were widely expected to be a non-competitive club this summer. Roseman, on the other hand, continued to act as though his club had a chance to win the NFC East. He signed a number of elderly veterans to one-year contracts, forcing Ertz to sit out the opening few games of the season.
Following the club’s 2-4 start (which includes a blowout defeat to the Dallas Cowboys), even Roseman seems to be ready to admit that the 2021 Eagles will not be a decent football team. It makes sense to commit to a tear-down rebuild in which veterans are dealt away for young players or draft choices.
Making room for the next generation
On this call, Roseman has praised Tyree Jackson, Jack Stoll, and Noah Togiai a lot. This, in turn, allows Dallas Goedert to be assessed as “THE GUY,” says the author. #Eagles

While getting rid of aging talent is the first step in the rebuilding process, finding excellent, younger talent to replace them is much more difficult.
Ertz is the greatest tight end the Eagles have ever had. It’s not as easy as some may think to replace him.
For openers, Goedert will handle the majority (if not all) of the team’s TE1 responsibilities. Since the day he was drafted, the club has been grooming him for that position, and he’s shown he has starting-caliber talent in the past. For what it’s worth, Goedert’s NFL success came mostly from receiving passes from former Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz.
Getting Jalen Hurts and Goedert on the same page may be a lengthy process.
With all of that stated, Roseman spent the most of his press conference talking up a completely different young TE. A tight end who has yet to play a single NFL action for the Eagles.
The Philadelphia Eagles have faith in quarterback-turned-tight end Nick Foles. Tyree Jackson is a basketball player who plays for the Los Angeles
During this news conference, Howie Roseman went out of his way to highlight Tyree Jackson. We’ve just seen him in training camp, but he seems to be a favorite of the Eagles.

Tyree Jackson, a former collegiate quarterback from the University of Buffalo, has become quite the tale.
He joined the Eagles’ practice squad in 2020, trying to make the transition from wide receiver to tight end, and has allegedly impressed along the way. Several Eagles officials, including Roseman, became believers as a result of his outstanding training camp.
Jackson is presently on IR due to a back bone fracture. All indications point to his returning at some point this season and taking over as TE2 behind Goedert. Jackson, who stands 6-foot-7 and weighs 245 pounds, has the physique of a slender, pass-catching tight end.
Is it reasonable to expect Jackson to step in and fill the hole created by Ertz’s departure? No, most likely not. However, the importance of Jackson’s participation in such a franchise-altering deal should not be overlooked. Roseman would not be promoting Jackson unless he intends to utilize him once he is well.
Keep an eye on Jackson’s position with the Eagles going forward, assuming he remains on pace to come off the IR in a few weeks.
